Brussels Airport (BRU)
Car Hire / Rental
A good range of car rental firms reside at Brussels Airport Zaventem (BRU), including a number of the national favourites. An important point to note, visitors arriving at Brussels Airport from a non-EU country must bring an International Driving Permit to be able to rent a car here, although some local car hire operators may accept your local driving licence.
Whilst most of the car rental companies at the airport and in the centre of Brussels include a level of insurance within the price, it is worth checking what this actually covers. Upgrades are often available for a minimal charge and worth considering.

Car Rental, Driving and Parking in Brussels
The rules of the road in Brussels and throughout Belgium are fairly easy to follow. Drivers must always give way to the right, drive on the right, and be able to recognise standard international signposts. Belgium is home to a number of fast, toll-free motorways, which connect many prominent cities and towns, including Brussels.
Most of the street parking available in the city is metered from around 09:00 to 19:00 Monday to Saturday, and in some central areas on Sundays. A number of covered car parking garages are also located in the centre of Brussels and electronic signs at the entrance indicate whether there are spaces - 'Vrij / Libre' (free spaces) or 'Vol / Complet' (full, no spaces).
