Travel by Trains
Located underneath the airport's main terminal building, on the lower level, the airport's railway station provide a fast and direct into Brussels city centre. Operated by Airport City Express, the train run every 10 to 30 minutes throughout the day and early night, and the journey time is around 20 minutes. The airport's trains travel to the three main railway stations in Brussels, the Gare Centrale, Gare du Nord and Gare du Midi. There are also trains that journey to areas outside of Brussels, including the De Panne, Gent, Quévy and the north coast. SNCB / NMBS is the main Belgian national railway service.
Travel by Buses
Brussels Airport Zaventem (BRU) is served by many regular public buses. They travel from the airport's bus station, which is located underneath the arrivals hall, into central Brussels and other nearby towns, in around 30 to 45 minutes. Most buses terminate at the main Brussels / Luxembourg railway station. Buses at Brussels Airport run daily at regular intervals every hour, from 07:00 to 20:00, and are an inexpensive and useful way to travel into the city. De Lijn buses - travelling from the airport to Brussels city center every 45 minutes, with a number of stops in surrounding areas of Brussels
MIVB / STIB Express Buses - travelling from the airport to Brussels city center and also to NATO, the European Commission
Coaches are also available at Brussels Airport Zaventem (BRU) and run throughout the day, travelling further afield, to other European cities such as Antwerp, Eindhoven, Liege and Valenciennes. The coach services run throughout the day and the journey times vary, depending upon the destination
Travel by Hotel Shuttle
Many Brussels hotels also offer a door-to-door courtesy shuttle bus services for their guests, traveling from Brussels airport, directly to the hotel from outside of the airport's passenger buildings.
Travel by Taxi Cabs
Taxis are readily available at Brussels Airport Zaventem (BRU) outside of the airport's arrivals hall and provide a convenient and easy way to travel into nearby Brussels city and other destinations. The journey from Zaventem Airport into central Brussels will take around 25 minutes, depending on traffic. Official Brussels BRU airport taxi cabs, with a yellow and blue logo, should be used at all times to ensure safety and also to avoid being overcharged.
The airport taxi meters in Brussels start at a basic fare, but additional charges are usually made for luggage, late-night driving and travel on public holidays in Brussels, so it can prove useful to ask the taxi driver about these before leaving. Some Brussels Airport taxis are happy to accept credit cards and taxis are available for disabled people with wheelchairs upon request.
